Filipino Runners United is a Dubai-based, non-profit organization founded in May 2010, whose main purpose is to promote and encourage active lifestyle in the UAE and to educate our members on its physical and mental benefits.

OPEN WATER SWIM

Open Water Swim training is an invigorating experience, perfect for both novice and seasoned swimmers looking to enhance their skills outside the confines of a pool. Whether preparing for a triathlon or seeking a refreshing new way to enjoy the water, open water swim training offers a rewarding opportunity to connect with nature while enhancing physical fitness.

We are not only dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles and enduring friendships, but also passionate advocates of social responsibility and giving back to the community. We have started training together at Zabeel Park in summer of 2010, and since then, we kept on growing as a group with more than 150 members of different nationalities and has extended on organizing regular trainings around the city and neighboring emirates.

RUNMADAN CHALLENGE

RUNmadan Challenge is one of the annual event organized and facilitated by FRU. It started on Ramadan of 2012 and an initiative by one of FRU founding members, Arch. Ros Pisuena, to fight against obesity and promote healthy lifestyle.

The challenge is to complete 30 days of running in different areas around Dubai and UAE from mosque to mosque & back to starting point for a minimum 3km run daily. This event is a non-profit activity and open to all nationalities.

The goal is to practice self-discipline, self-control, sacrifice, perseverance, diversity and to become fit, healthy and to gain more friends thru sports of running. RUNMADAN CHALLENGE runs month long from start of Ramadan, declared by the authority and closes with a fabulous Eid party.
